White/Black/Dark Powder Blue
07/27/2022
Though added to the Jumpman’s lexicon many, many years ago — as MJ himself was a Tar Heel — “University Blue” has only recently become a ubiquitous part of the brand’s catalog. And for 2022, the colorway is dressing the Air Jordan 1 Low OG, this time in a color blocking reminiscent of 2019’s “Obsidian.”
Similar to the above-mentioned make-up, this pair relegates its color to the backseat. And thanks to the navy used along the forward paneling, Swoosh, and lining, the similarities are even more striking, though the base does opt for white instead of “Sail.” The tongue and outsole, too, are distinct in their coloring, as they’re clad in the dark cool tone and “University Blue,” respectively. Further use of the UNC signature also appears across the heel tab, counter, and “Nike Air” branding.
